Lastly, I\'ll be hitting the road with Instant Treeline, an indie-rock band based out of Brooklyn! We will be traveling through the Northeast for a little over a week! You can check them out here: https://www.instanttreeline.com

Be sure to keep an eye on the itinerary section as I\'m trying to update it as constantly as I can.

03.27.15Winner of B-Jazz 2015 Competition!!

Hi Everyone,

I'm thrilled to announce that my trio with Angelo Di Loreto (piano), and Philippe Lemm (drums) took first prize at the 1st annual B-Jazz Competition in Leuven, Belgium. As our prize, we will be traveling to Bilbao, Spain in July to perform at the Getxo Jazz Festival, as well as ben returning to Belgium in 2016 for more performances!! I couldn't be more happy playing music with some of my best friends around the world! This competition has been incredibly humbling and quite a learning experience. Congrats to all of the other bands that performed - I was really impressed with the variety of styles represented.

Gig update: SNACK CAT at Rockwood Music Hall, this Sunday at 11pm!!

That's all for now!

01.09.15A New Year, and a lot of New Things!

Hi Everyone,

It's been a while since the last update, so I have a lot to catch you up on...

Musically, there is a lot happening. I've started a new funk/soul band with some of my good friends and we actually are playing a gig tonight at Brooklyn's Radegast beirhall from 9-12. If you can't make it, no sweat, we're playing a lot of other shows in NYC in the coming months including Bowery Electric and Rockwood. Stay tuned for more information on that.

A talented singer that I've been playing with since the summer, Lindsay Dunphy, is recording/releasing an EP and is looking for support. To find out more about her and her project, click here: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/lindsay-dunphy-right-kind-of-fool-ep-and-branding
We have a show at Rockwood Music Hall on January 24th, so to hear the group live, you should check it out!

I'm really excited that in March, I'll be making my Birdland Jazz Club debut with an up-and-coming singer Trevor McQueen. Joining us will be some of my closest friends, Angelo Di Loreto on piano and Philippe Lemm on drums. The show is March 9th and you can make reservations here: www.birdlandjazz.com

I should also mention that every Tuesday, I've been playing at the awesome restaurant Dock's Seafood with a group called the "Jamtones". The Jamtones are also playing every Thursday at Sarabeth's TriBeCa. The group plays in other configurations around the city on other days of the week.

Believe it or not, I've become involved with something non-musical! In March, I'll be joining a group of classmates from Columbia University representing the school in the 2015 Hult Prize semi finals. I'm honored to be a part of this team as the goal is to educate 10 million children living in slums around the world. To learn more about the competition click here:

Also, if all goes as planned, I'll be finishing at Columbia's Teachers College this May!! You'll be looking at a Master's of Jazz Bass and a Master's of Music Education :)

Until Next Time,
Jeff

03.26.13Been a while since the last update...A LOT OF STUFF

Hey Everyone,

Hope this finds you well. It's been such a busy time of year. First and foremost, my GRADUATE RECITAL is this friday at MSM. It's been a wonderful 6 years, and I'm sad to be leaving, but happy to embark on the next stage of life. Some of my closest friends and talented musicians will be joining me, as well as a few Gospel Church singers!

Some other things that have been happening...I just got back from the Kennedy Center in Washington DC with the talented Finnish guitarist Olli Hirvonen and we recorded an album the next day! I'll keep you posted when the release happens (which will be relatively soon).

I was also accepted into Columbia University's Teachers College program for Music Education. Teaching has always been a passion of mine and who knows where this may lead me...

Until next time!
-J

12.13.11End of Semester/Things

Hey Everybody,

Hope everyone is staying warm during this holiday season. This has been quite a busy semester as a master's student at MSM! Lots of chromatic work! To celebrate being done, I'm off to Israel for the next 2 weeks to participate in the Birthright program!

Some cool stuff coming up in January - I'll be playing at Cornelia St Cafe on Jan 3rd with Brett Chalfin's Brooklyn Project. It's going to be a great night of mostly original material! Also, I'll be playing at the Knitting Factory with the White Rhino on Friday, Jan 13th to celebrate the release of his 2nd album.

Another thing, be on the lookout for Jonas Ganzemuller's debut record "Midnight Runner", which should be released soon!

Happy Holidays!!

Jeff

07.15.11Summer so far

Hey Everyone,

What a fantastic summer! I've been so fortunate to have many great opportunities to perform and teach for the last couple months. Europe was incredible! Jonas, Nick, and Bobby are fantastic musicians and I'm honored to have been able to make music with them!

Colony went on the road a few times in June/July. We made stops in Pittsburgh, NYC, and Buffalo. Each of the shows were better than the last, and the new music that the band member bring are great! Also, the CD is in the final production stages so it should be ready next month!!

I just finished teaching the first session at the New York City Guitar School summer rock camp for teenagers. The show was last night, and my group "Don't Walk" rocked! It was so much fun leading a group of young and eager musicians who just want to have a good time and learn new songs! Hope I can be a part of it again next summer!!

Also, I'm really excited for the Fatum Brother's Jazz Orchestra tour that starts this Monday! I haven't seen some of the band members in a year, and some I haven't met yet. If this tour is anything like the last one, it will be 3 weeks of great music, experiences, and a good time! The band will be making stops all around the country including NYC, Chicago, Columbus, New Orleans, and Sarasota. You can go to www.fatumjazz.com for more information

Also, check out the itinerary page for any upcoming shows in the area, and feel free to sign up for my mailing list!

Until next time,

Jeff

05.10.11It's almost summer

Hey Everyone,

It's been a little while since my last update, and a lot has been happening. First, I'm about to graduate from Manhattan School of Music with a Bachelor's Degree in Jazz Bass this Friday afternoon. 4 years have gone by too quickly... But on a lighter note, I'll be returning to MSM for their master's program!

And this Sunday, I leave for Europe to tour with alto saxophonist Jonas Ganzemuller and his quartet featuring Nick Paul on piano, Borislav Petrov on drums, and myself. We will be playing all over Germany, and also stopping in the Netherlands, and Belgium. You can check the itinerary page for more details.

If you haven't done so already, you can sign up for my mailing list in the 'contact' section, or write me a message just to say hi!

Enjoy the beautiful weather!!

Jeff

03.28.11Some cool stuff

Hey Everyone,

Well it's almost spring (sort of) and there are a lot of things coming up to look forward to! I graduate from MSM in less than 2 months, and immediately afterward I'll be going on the road with Jonas Ganzemuller's quartet! We'll be playing in Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands! I'm really excited to have the opportunity to Europe with truly incredible musicians! Check his music out at www.jonasganzemuller.com

In other news, the Colony CD is almost done and will be for sale hopefully by the start of the summer. We're also planning a CD release tour (dates TBA). Stay tuned for that.

Lastly, I'll be going on the road from the end of July to the middle of August with the Fatum Brother's Jazz Orchestra! This big band is great and I'm so fortunate to be able to work with these guys again! We'll be going all over the US playing original music as well as some classics! Hopefully I'll be writing some music for the group as well! Check out the band's website: www.fatumjazz.com

There are also new tracks on the site from my senior recital last month! The band sounds fantastic! Check out the itinerary page as well to see where I'll be playing next in the city!

Until next time,

Jeff
